Mission of Pediatric Nursing Department:
In line with the mission of the School of Nursing and Midwifery, the mission of the department is the education of students in the doctorate degree, master's degree, and bachelor's degree programs in nursing in order to meet the need of the country and also Kermanshah province for specialized and profession health personnel. Pediatric nursing department has the full ability to performeducational, research, care plan developing and counseling activities in the field of children and families health.
Objectives of Pediatric Nursing Department:
1- Achieving the highest quality and quantity level in providing educational, research and executive services to the recipients of the service, i.e. students and hospitalized children clients in the hospital and in the community.
2- Promoting the ability of critical thinking and decision-making of undergraduate and graduate students in pediatric nursing to combine previous learning in the study of growth and development and deviation from health in infants and children and provide family-centered nursing care.
Tasks and activities of Pediatric Nursing Department:
- Participation in teaching theoretical and practicum units at the level of bachelor of nursing, master of pediatric nursing and PhD in nursing.
- Participation in launching postgraduate courses.
- Cooperation with student scientific associations in holding scientific and cultural programs.
- Teaching in child and infant resuscitation workshops, professional ethics, communication skills and patient safety.
- Guidance and counseling for master of nursing students and doctoral dissertations in nursing.
- Academic counseling for undergraduate students.
- Participate in holding special retraining workshops for faculty members and nurses of children and infants.
- Compilation and translation of valid and required educational resources.
- Cooperating with the Faculty of Education in establishing and observing educational and ethical guidelines and creating a favorable environment and conditions for the education of nursing students based on Islamic principles and values and medical ethics.
- Performing and cooperating in research activities.
- Improving the level of professional and moral abilities and updating their knowledge and skills through participation in domestic and foreign scientific conferences, short-term training courses and knowledge-enhancing workshops.
- Participate in group evaluation and perform self-evaluation periodically in order to promote and excel the group.
- Cooperation and participation in executive affairs at different levels of the faculty and university, if necessary.
